New Drop-Off Base in Des Plaines for 2012

For the summer of 2012  we will be introducing a Drop-Off & Pick-Up base at St. Mary's Auditorium in Des Plaines (795 Center Street). St. Mary's is located 2 blocks South of Miner Street (Rt.14) in the downtown area.

Another successful summer has come to an end, and we hope everyone is enjoying the Fall. We would like to say thank you to all of our previous camp families by offering you Early Bird Registration for the summer of 2012.  As of today, online Early Bird Registration has begun.  
   
Early Bird Registration offers our previous camp families the lowest prices for the summer of 2012 that we will offer.  Families that take advantage of Early Bird Registration will save 10% on our 2012 pricing.  

Like last summer, you will again have to select the specific weeks and days that your child will attend.  Camp will run this summer from June 11th to August 17th.  Please keep in mind that you have until May 15th, 2012 to finalize your camper's schedule, so you don't have to worry about an exact schedule yet.

Thank You For All The "Good Times" This Summer

Thanks to everyone for a wonderful summer. It has been ten weeks of non-stop fun! We truly do have a great job, and what makes it so great are the amazing personalities of our campers. Watching them grow year to year and being able to put a smile on their faces means everything. We wish everyone a successful school year and hope to see you all back next summer.

Important Information About The Six Flags Great America Field Trip

There will be an early drop off and late pick up at all locations on Wednesday, August 17th for the field trip to Six Flags Great America. The Northbrook and Wheeling buses will be leaving by 8:00 am and the camp will be leaving the Glenview base at 8:30 am. Please arrive 15 minutes early before your bus leaves.   All buses will be back at their bases by 6:00 PM. 
Here are some other important reminders about the Great America Trip.
  • Campers that have season passes and bring them to Great America will receive $10.
  • Food is not allowed in the park. Campers must bring money for lunch.  
    • The recommended amount to bring is $15 for lunch.  
    • Place money in a Ziplock bag labeled with the counselor's name, camper's name, and the amount enclosed.  
    • Please use singles. It makes life easier for counselors with younger campers to keep track of change.
  • Campers should wear sunscreen and a hat.
  • All parents are welcome to come to Great America.   
    • Parents that do come can buy a ticket from Matt or Dave for $30 before they enter the park.
    • Parents and guests are asked to stay with their camper's group.
    • Parents may drive separately from the camp and can stay later with their campers after the camp leaves the park.  Please talk to Matt or Dave if you are planning on doing this.
  • Campers will not be going into Hurricane Harbor Water Park.

2011 Wrestling Tournament

Our annual wrestling tournament will start on Monday, August 1 and will end Friday, August 12 for all campers that weighed in and signed up during week 7.  Wrestling will take place in the mornings and afternoons at the Playdium.
8:00 AM to 8:45 AM 
3:45 PM to 4:45 PM
Parents, please adjust your campers' pick up and drop off times so they may be able to wrestle.  If you have any questions, please talk to Earl or E-mail him at earldanan@comcast.net.

  • Camper's will be seeing the IMAX movie Born to Be Wild. 
  • Campers must bring a sack lunch.   
  • All parents are welcome to come to Navy Pier. Parents that do come can buy a ticket from Bobby for $20 before they enter the IMAX.      
Hurricane HarborThe following groups will be going on the Hurricane Harbor field trip:
5-Megan, 6-Nikki, 7-Michele, 10-Kevan & Kevin, 11-Albert & Andrew, and 12-DEM Guys

WI Overnight 2011 Info

Are your campers signed up for the WI Overnight event on August 5th? Campers ages 8 and up are invited for a night of camping, movies, swimming, and marshmallows! 
Our planned activities include:
  • Field Trip to Good Times Camp in Waukesha, WI  
  • Culver's Dinner
  • Night Time Swim at Country Springs 
  • PG-13 Movie Marathon 
  • Sleep Under The Stars 
  • Marshmallow Roasting 
  • McDonald's Breakfast
  • Pick up is 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the Playdium in Glenview

  • Under the "Current Reservations" area click the "view" link on the camper you wish to edit.
  • Under the "Reservation Items" area click the "edit" link.
  • Keep clicking the Next Button until you get to the "Extras" section.
  • Select "WI Overnight".
  • Click the "Proceed to Payment" button.

Are your campers signed up for this Friday's Lock-In event? Campers ages 8 and up are invited for a night of video games, swimming, pizza, and sports! 
Our planned activities include:
  • Pizza Dinner
  • Field Trip to Nickel City
  • Night Time Swim at Flick Pool
  • Sleep Over at the Libertyville Sports Complex
  • Pillow Fight
  • Sports Tournaments
  • Dunkin Donuts Breakfast
Pick up is 9:45 am to 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the Playdium in Glenview.

White Sox Field Trip Reminders

Here are a few important reminders about this Wednesday's Field Trip to the Chicago White Sox Game. 
  • All campers need to wear their 2011 camp shirts. If they want to show their Sox pride please have them wear a hat or open button down jersey over their camp shirt.  
  • Parents, if you plan on joining us, you need to sign up by Tuesday afternoon at the Glenview base. If you cannot make it to the Glenview Base please call us at 847-729-4884 or email us at Glenview@GoodTimesDayCamp.com.  
    • Tickets are $30 the day of the trip.
  • If you have younger campers and you are sending money with them, please bring the money in a zip lock bag with your child's name on it for their counselor to hold. 
  • There will be a late pick up at all bases. Buses will be back at all bases by 6:00 PM.  Please be available to pick up by this time.
